Healthy Habitats partners with place-based communities to develop novel solutions to complex societal, environmental and economic challenges.

Who We Are

Healthy Habitats is being created as a group of like-minded individuals with varied backgrounds in cities, longevity, futurism, digital design, sustainability and innovation, connected by a common mission to improve the wellbeing of people and planet. We’re at an early stage of development, drawing on decades of collective knowledge and expertise.

How We Work

We’re building a next generation community: one that is aligned on both mission and economics. As such we’ll be testing new organizational techniques and processes that combine today’s emergent technologies (like blockchain, distributed intelligence and AI) with time-tested models of collaboration (cooperatives and mutuals).

What We Stand For

Globally informed, locally based

We focus on helping place thrive. One of our favourite quotes is ‘the future is here, just unevenly distributed’. We want to connect novel ideas with local needs.

Distributed cooperation

We operate as a distributed global network to advance ‘collectively intelligent’ approaches, where benefits are widely distributed for the many, not just the few.

People plus planet

We don’t focus on wellbeing or the environment; these thing are combined. We look to build on and support them both.

Designing for systems change

In our complex world, most things are connected. We don’t want to fix one problem and create multiple more, so we operate at the systems level.

Rooted in lived experiences

We adopt the perspective of those with lived experience, and adhere to a practical, ‘jobs to be done’ approach that recognizes the multiplicity of solutions.

Capital as change agent

We’re seeking to harness the incredible power of capital to improve society.
Data can surface externalities and drive behaviour change to enable this.
